BRIEF HISTORY 

Ankase Circuit was granted full Circuit status in the year 1984 under the Chairmanship of Rev.IKA Thompson who was also the Superintendent Minister of Kumasi Circuit. Before the Section became a full Circuit it was under Asawase Circuit. The societies forming the Circuit are Ankase, Aboabogya, Adwumakese Wadie, Ejuratia, Aduman, Mpobi, Heman, Aboaso, Wawasi, Swedru , Adubinso, Dumanafo, Adwumakase-kese, Edwinase/Maase among others. It should however be noted that three of this circuits have now joined the Old Tafo Circuit namely : Adwumakase-kese, Edwinase and Maase.
Ankaase society was was founded by Opanin James Kofi in the year 1876. Heman society was founded by Opanin Abu Bonsra in the year 1970. Mpobi society was founded by Opanin Robert Adu in the year 1897. Adwumakese Wadie was founded by Osebetutu and Daniel Arhin in the year 1930. Adubinso was founded by Osei Bonsu in the year 1964. Aboaso sciety was founded by Opanin Jacob Osei and Opanin Kwabena Twum. Societies such as Aduman, Wawasi, Swedro, Dumanafo all fall under the Circuit.
The first Superintendent Minister was Rev. Kwaku Abaka, who acted for just one yaer. The second was Rev. P.K. Amoah. After him came Rev. S.F. Oduro and Kwaku Asare in that order.
Other ministers who have served Ankaasi Circuit are as follows: V. Rev’ds. G.A Bonney, SA Sadzie, AH Kyere, EK Adjeitey Adjei,NK Asiedu, JK Nketia, JKK Sakyi, JM Donkor, EA Boateng, N.Odum- Baidoo, Philip K.D. Akromah.
