FORMATION OF THE AHODWO CIRCUIT

The idea to form the Ahodwo Circuit was proposed in 2011 during the Synod of the Kumasi Diocese hosted by the Offinso Circuit, when the then Bishop, Rt. Rev. Prof. Osei Safo-Kantnaka saw the need for the expansion and growth of the Diocese as well as enhancing good Church management. The Ahodwo Circuit was formally set up by the Expanded Genral Purposes Council of the Methodist Church Ghana held in August 2015 at Koforidua in the Eastern region.

The Ahodwo Section was created out of two existing Circuits: Amakom and the New Tafo with three (3) and six (6) Societies from Amakom and New Tafo respectively. In attaching the Ahodwo Section to a Circuit for nurturing into a Circuit, Amakom and New Tafo indicated interest. The Standing Committee in April 2011 proposed to 2011 Kumasi Diocesan Synod for Amakom to take charge in nurturing the new Section, a duty Amakom Circuit has perfectly discharged till now.

The immediate past Superintendent Minster, RT. Rev. Joseph B. Impraim and the current Superintendent Minister, Very Rev. Samuel Boadu-Ayeboafo of the Amakom Circuit have given tremendous support of the Ahodwo Circuit. This and role played by the entire Amakom Circuit are highly commendable.

The Ahodwo Circuit has challenges, notably; infrastructure and human capital thus, the Circuit will continue to embark on the development of infrastructure, human capacity building, and intensify evangelism activities. We urge all to support and cooperate with us in order to achieve the set goals.

The Circuit salutes all members, both past and present, who through their sacrifices have enabled us all to see this great event. The Circuit for exercising pastoral care over the six societies in the new Circuit before the merger.

We also wish to place on record the immense contributions made by the Amakom Circuit, besides the supervision. Mention can be made of acquisition of 6 plots of land for the Asaago Society.
  • Support (Ghc 8000) to Mt. Horeb Society in renting an accommodation for the Circuit Superintendent Minister which is due to expire in June 2016.
  • Donation of Ghc 10,000 to the Kwanwoma Society to support her building project.
  • Donation of Ghc 19,000 to Calvary Society, Daban to support building project.
  • Individual member’s contribution to support the purchase four plots of land for Aboabo Kesse society, currently worshiping in someone’s hall.
  • Donation of 25,000 to support the purchase of the current vehicle being used by the superintendent minister.
To the entire Amakom Circuit we say ‘Ayekoo’ and God richly bless you while we take this opportunity to encourage continuous support between us.
To Very Rev. Samuel Boadu-Ayeboafo, the then Superintendent Minister, Amakom Circuit, we say thank you for the role you have played facilitate the creation of the circuit and for the smooth transition. Secondly, we would like to express our gratitude to Rt. Rev. Joseph B. Impraim for the initial preparatory work.
In addition, we express our appreciation to Circuit organizations and individuals for their various contributions towards the growth and development of the organizations under the Circuit.
Members of the Quarterly Meeting of Amakom Circuit, accept our gratitude for your counsel and encouragement which have brought about great opportunities and peaceful co-existence. The Circuit is so much grateful for your various roles in the formation of the Ahodwo Circuit.

To Mr. Kwabena Kesse of Kessben Group of Companies, we would like to thank you for donating a pavilion to Asaago Society. We say God richly bless you.
In taking over the section in October 2014, our greatest challenge was how to steer the section successfully to attain the circuit status. Some of the members of the section, though were in support of the circuit status, thought it was not yet time due to poor financial positions of most of the societies. Some of the societies did not have plots of land, not to talk of chapel building.

I want to commend these personalities, Very. Rev. Samuel Boadu-Ayeboafo, Rev. (Mrs.) Janet Baiden-Amissah, Mr. Enoch Baah, Mr. John Kwame Arhin, Dr. Mrs. Ernsetina Fredua Antoh and few others who stood behind me for this great day.

After Mr. Kwabena Kesse of Kessben Group of Companies donated the pavilion to Asaago society, the Soceity had fully clad it by erecting doors to it to make it a chapel. We are so thankful to him and we are calling him and others to bring us more.
Very Rev. Daniel K. Kyere served as the Superintendent Minister after taking over from Very Rev. Nancy Broni Appiah.
