HISTORY
Wesley Methodist Church, Kuntenase together with four (4) sister societies formed the Circuit which was previously under Achinakrom. These are Nyameani, Swedru, Kokodei & Yaase/Adwafo.
This vision of forming a Circuit was captured in October, 2000 when Very Rev. Antwi Samuel Boateng was posted to Kuntenase as the first Sectional Minister. In consultations at the leaders Meeting, Quarterly Meetings and Synods, the Kuntenase section was recognized as a section at stage A during the 6th Annual Synod of the Effiduase Diocese in April, 2003 (thus is in accordance with S.O. 602, 3). The section by their enthusiastic spirit worked assiduously and progressed steadily to pursue their Vision of attaining the status of a Circuit.
During the 3rd Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church Ghana in 2004 at Sekondi which was presided over by the Most Rev. Dr. Robert Aboagye Mensah, the Circuit was granted autonomy and recognized as a full Circuit.
The Very Rev. J.K. Akassie was the first Superintendent Minister with J.B. Danquah serving as the Circuit Steward.
