At the 5th Bieenial/43rd Conference of the Methodist Church Ghana held at Ebenezer Cathedral Winneba, from 12th-17th August, 2008, Foase section of Bantama Circuit in the Kumasi Diocese, comprising Foase, Twedie, Boko, Gyekye, Kokobeng, Afrancho, Trabuom, Hwidiem, Nkorang, Nwineso No., Nwineso No.2, Hiakoso, Koko and Abodiase was moved to stage C in accordance with S.O. 602 (3c) to be called Foase Circuit. Very Rev. Kingsley Kyei Baffour was the Supt. Ministerat the Bantama Circuit. The sectional Minister was Very Rev. Mercy Osei in charge of the Foase Section, and the Diocesan Bishop was Rt. Rev. Nuh Ben Abubekr.

The oldest Society in the Circuit has been in existence since 1915, and the youngest, since 1995. The Circuit is therefore a blend of old and new Societies. The Circuit would be formally inaugurated on 22nd February, 2009, with Very Rev. Michael E. Panford who was stationed at Foase on 1st October, 2008, as the first Supt. Minister.

All the 14 societies in the Circuit are located in rural communities which are faced by a number of challenges. With zeal and determination, the new circuit is determined to overcome the challenges and forge ahead.

Preparation for the Circuit status gradually gathered momentum when the first Rev. Minister, Very Rev. Daniel Dankwah was stationed at Foase in 1991. At the 42nd Annual Synod held at Bethel Methodist Church, Ayigya, from May 7th to 11th, 2003, five societies in the Kwadaso Circuit, namely, Nwineso no.1, Nwineso No.2. Abodease, Hiakose and Koko were allowed to join Foase Section of Bantama Circuit. The Section was allowed to move to stage A in accordance with S.O. 603 (a).

Again at the 43rd Annual Synod held at De- Graft Memorial Chapel, Asawase, from 4th to 9th May, 2004, the Foase Section in the Bantama Circuit was allowed to move to stage B in accordance with S.O. 602 (3b). Movement of the section to stages A and B occurred when Very Rev. O.S.K. Boakye was the Supt. Minister of the Bantama Circuit ad Very Rev. Frank Opoku Boateng was the Sectional Minister.

All the reverend ministers who worked in the Section played their various parts in preparing the Section to attain a Circuit status. The first Rev. Minister to oversee the Foase Section was Rev. Kwabena Dankwah, who assumed duty in October, 1991. The list of reverend ministers who have served in the Foase section which is now the Foase Circuit are Very Rev. Daniel Kwabena Dankwah (Oct.1991- Sept.-1996), Very Rev. Kofi Amoateng (Oct. 1996- Sept. 1997), Very Rev. Maxwell Tweneboah Kodua (Oct.1997- Sept. 1999), Very Rev. Ocran Sackey (Oct.1999- Sept.2001), Very Rev. Frank Opoku Boateng (Oct.2001- Sept. 2004), Very Rev. Adjei Frimpong Manso (Oct. 2004- Sept. 2007), Very Rev. Mercy Osei (Oct. 2007- Sept.2008).

Before any reverend minister assumed duty in the Foase Section, a number of catechists who preceded them laid a strong foundation to build upon which culminated in the creation of the Foase circuit. And so we would like to express our profound gratitude to all past and present catechists for their tireless efforts that led to the creation of this Glorious Circuit. We say ayekoo.
Past Sectional Stewards include Mr. Nkrumah, Johnson Osei Aboagye, Stephen Gyamfi, John Forkuo and Daniel Matthew Opoku who is also the first Circuit Minister.
